Century 21

Century 21 has become the mecca for anyone looking to buy discount designers handbags, shoes and apparel. Located just across the street for the World Trade Center, its easy to get to and the bargains you'll find there are phenomenal. But be forewarned. Its one of the most crowded stores in New York City.

Lord & Taylor's

For 90 years, Lord & Taylor's flagship store on Fifth Avenue has been a source of classic apparel and fine jewelry. If you find yourself on Fifth during the holidays, their Christmas Windows are charming and beautiful.

Macy's Herald Square

The world's largest department store is also the NYC's most popular. Thanks to the sponsoring of its ever popular Thanksgiving Day Parade and 4th of July Fireworks display, there is no doubt that Macy's has become associated with New York City. Besides all those things, its a great place to shop as well.

If you want to visit a department store in New York City just for the experience of it, then Sakes Fifth Avenue should be on your list. Sak's flagship store is beautiful and spacious, even on its most crowded day you won't feel jostled and hemmed in. The selection of designer everything is a shopaholics dream, and though its prices lean towards the very expensive side, its still worth a look. Their holiday window is truly exceptional and its worth seeing during the holidays.
