One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is to attend the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. This year, the tree lighting will take place on Wednesday, 12-2-15. The event is f
ree and open to the public on a first come first serve basis and will take place from 7–9pm, at Rockefeller Plaza, between West 48th and West 51st Streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
It’s always a wonderful ceremony with singing and dancing, and of course all of those gorgeous lights. This years performers will include Sting, James Taylor, Chris Botti, Mary J. Blige, Andrea Bocelli, The Band Perry, Andy Grammer and Carly Rae Jepsen.
Since thousands and thousands of people will be present for the ceremony, get there early to get a good viewing spot.
If you can’t make it to the tree lighting ceremony, that’s OK. The tree will be shining in all its glory until 8pm on January 6, 2016.
